New and second hand dealers are listed here with links. Most have on line ordering.

MP3

As a system it can give an approximation to CD type sound. If you are greedy and sample a too low a rate well you get audio crap, not music at all. Classical music or any orchestral backing tends to show errors most easily, but a lot of the chart stuff has little to lose in the first place! Recently, comments on teletext show that MP3.com is a source for music from unsigned bands. This IS a good idea on all counts. UK radio is very poor at airing new material.

Napster R.I.P?

The free music system has stirred the corporates into action! I have used it to get hold of deleted tracks and to hear new bands. As a source for album "file sharing" it is really a non - starter at the current state of technology and clearly unfair to the artists.

I have not, as yet checked out all these dealers. Since I am UK based, I use credit via Mastercard or Visa on most occasions. I most strongly recommend you check that ANY site you use has a https SECURE ordering page! Better site security is being introduced.

  Dealers on the Web
