	This is the first new music webpage of 2001. Oddly, the first entry is not a new band. One of the members (at least) is was still making music relatively recently. Steely Dan also make an impact on comeback. Two Against Nature.

UK	The Icicle Works / Ian McNabb		A trio, with a number of hits. Ian had a very strong vocal style at the time.
New Zealand.		Crowded House / Neil Finn. Neil has just reappeared with a new album	I noted CH down earlier, but forgot to enter them! A teletext item has reminded me.
USA New York.	Steely Dan Can't Buy A Thrill, 1972 Countdown to Ecstasy, 1973 Katy Lied, The Royal Scam, Gaucho. Two Against Nature 2000	Steely Dan caused a revolution in popular music, combining rock guitar with jazz for an intensive and sophisticated sound. Benefiting from superior musical craftsmen and a pair of brilliant song writers, Steely Dan forced their peers to question their own musical direction and abilities, whilst revolutionising the way in which music was recorded. 	Surprise winners of the 2000 Grammy Awards. It shows up some of the teletext comments re "influential" artists. This band certainly DO fall into that category. Check out the back catalogue, You could get a pleasant surprise! There are a lot of web locations too, so no excuses there! First Album from 1972 Can't Buy A Thrill 1773 released Countdown to Ecstasy
UK FOLK	Steeleye Span	Added them next to Steely Dan. It was confusing then too! This is a folk band.

UK INDIE	Shed 7		Rick Witter may go on a bit at times, but he's a good frontman. He has a "Rock" tattoo, though the band is not all that heavy rock. I got "Mark" years ago, and have most of the rest as well!

	Probably get some flak here, but Bernard was a very significant member of Suede.

	Massive Attack		Another omission from earlier lists. They are remix specialists and rather good at it too.
